On a More Joyous Note: Email to My Therapist
Dear Nicholas, New puppy!
His name is Carlo. He’s ten weeks old. He’s a Maremma, which is an Italian breed of livestock guardian.
He joined us two days ago and he’s starting to get used to the idea. He’ll grow up to be about 100 pounds, which is 25-ish less than the beloved giant who preceded him. Right now he’s hardly bigger than a rabbit under all that white hair. (Photo by husband and serious dog wrangler Bob Dick.)
A puppy is very good for mental health.

So huge!! Do you have livestock to guard?
Bob and I are the livestock, Kenju.
Beautiful! Nothing in the world sweeter than a puppy!
I agree, Lee!
Blessings on the addition of Carlo. I cannot imagine a life without dogs (we have two goldens) . They are my model for living in the moment.
Thanks, Gail. Hadn’t thought of them as that sort of model, but now I will.
He’s a beaut! Hope to meet him before he’s all growed up!
I can just imagine bringing him to class, Christina! Happy Ocracoke!
There must be some mistake. He is too large to be a puppy.
He’s a lanky baby. My brothers were the same way.
He is beautiful. Our newest boy, Leon, will never be as large as our beloved Micah, but he makes us laugh just as much and that is huge. Wishing you all the very best with your new love!
Thanks, Debbie. I’m glad you have Leon to help deal with your current events.
